As spotted by Bloomberg reporter and trusted Apple tipster Mark Gurman, a number of trademark filings suggest that Apple is focusing on the word “Reality” with its next big product category. “Reality One”, “Reality Pro” and “Reality Processor” have been identified in applications filed in various countries, including the US, EU, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica and Uruguay. Apple itself is not directly involved in these trademark filings, with a company called Immersive Health Solutions LLC registering the trademarks. This is not unusual, however, as the secretive tech giant regularly uses law firms and shell companies to perform such procedural tasks on its behalf. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that Apple plans to pioneer the Reality brand. In May, another trademark filing revealed the name RealityOS, hinting at the name of the mixed reality platform. Indeed, the company that registered this RealityOS name, Corporation Trust Co., is the same company that in turn registered Immersive Health Solutions LLC. This is Apple’s job, simple and not so simple. Given the timing of the above-mentioned RealityOS registration, it was expected that Apple could introduce its AR platform at WWDC 2022 in June, although that apparently did not happen. More recently, reports claimed that Apple will release the Reality headset sometime in 2023.
