Southampton capped their performance of the season so far by beating Chelsea 2-1 at an atmospheric St Mary’s.
Goals from Romeo Lavia and Adam Armstrong overturned a 1-0 deficit after Raheem Sterling scored his third goal in two games to give Chelsea the lead.
Ralf Hassenhütl’s side were relegation underdogs on the eve of the season with the club in a variety of crises amid talk of an unsettled dressing room and unruly players.
However, they have started the season confidently and tonight they outclassed their opponents here with goals scored in the seventh.
