The Met Office says daytime highs of around or above 30C are expected along the Sunshine Coast from Gibsons to Powell River. Environment Canada says similar daytime highs are expected in eastern and interior parts of Vancouver Island, as well as in Howe Sound, north of Vancouver. It says warmer-than-normal temperatures will remain into the coming long weekend, but should remain below those that would trigger another warning.
