Dashcam Footage Shows Police Chase Before M606 Triple Fatality

Simpson drove towards Cleckheaton, going on the wrong side of the road to overtake a vehicle. He was traveling 55-58mph on the wrong side of the road, the court heard. He then hit 90mph on the wrong side of the road. Simpson went through a right turn lane at the Chain Bar roundabout. He continued to travel the wrong way around the Chain Bar roundabout. Now he was not being followed by the police, as the officers had lost sight of Simpson in the van. The teenager traveled north on the southbound carriageway of the M606. Another driver flashed his lights at Simpson as they were on the wrong side of the road, with the truck “pushing as hard as it could, due to speed” at that point. A taxi driven by Sohail Ali, who had passenger Simon McHugh in his taxi, was traveling the correct route on the motorway. Both occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts, the court heard. Simpson drove head-on into a Toyota Prius, the court heard. Ambulances rushed to the scene. Mr McHugh and Mr Ali were pronounced dead at the scene. Kyden Leadbeater died hours after the crash.
