The Super 8 Motel on Highway 97 North in Kelowna has modified plans to expand its property. The motel submitted plans in July of last year to expand the property to the west. According to a development permit application from that time, the motel planned to build a three-story detached building behind the current structure. It would have added 30 rooms to the property. New plans unveiled this week now propose a five-storey building with space for 48 rooms. If approved, the expansion would increase the motel’s capacity from 62 to 110 rooms. An additional 39 stalls will also be added to increase parking capacity to 110. The expanded building will also include a pool area, exercise room and laundry facilities.
