Police received a call from a resident around 11 p.m. Tuesday that they heard what sounded like a woman screaming for help in the area of Davidson Avenue in Wabana. The witness ran to the scene and encountered a vehicle driving away from the area. Bell Island RCMP conducted extensive patrols and searched the neighborhood, but the woman was not identified. No further reports were received and the vehicle, which they did not have a description of, was not located. Police are hoping to locate the woman to ensure her safety.
