The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) announced Wednesday that it has charged OPP officers Nathan Vanderheyden, Kenneth Pengelly and Grason Cappus with one count of involuntary manslaughter.
They also each face charges of criminal negligence causing death.
“The matter is now before the courts. “In consideration of the interests of the defendants’ fair trial, the SIU will make no further comment on this investigation,” the agency said in a statement on Wednesday.
