ORIGINAL 6 p.m The BC Wildfire Service has dispatched a birddog plane to assess a new wildfire in Okanagan Mountain Park. Smoke is visible from Peachland. Jeff called Castanet to say he could see what looked like a new wildfire in the Okanagan Mountain Park area. Another person said it appeared two helicopters dropped water on the flames. BCWS says the fire was first reported late this afternoon. Cause still undetermined, but thunder over West Kelowna around 4:30 p.m. “There’s a birdie on the fairway right now.
