Passengers were evacuated from Heathrow Terminal 2 this morning due to a possible bomb scare. The Metropolitan Police said officers were called at 10.47am. for reports of an unattended bag. A spokesman told Metro.co.uk: “The area has been evacuated as a precaution and the item will be assessed by specialist officers.” Transport for London said the station for Terminals 2 and 3 was closed while staff “assist police to respond to a security alert”. Images and videos on social media showed large crowds of people standing outside the airport, unsure of what was happening. The photos also show several police vehicles parked outside the terminal.
