A Belleville meat processing company has been fined $ 75,000 after a worker was injured in December of 2020. JBS Foods, located on Jamieson Bone Road, must also pay a 25% victim fine surcharge. The fines were handed out in a Belleville courtroom August 22. The injury occurred when three workers were operating a sausage mixer and had begun to clean it. One reached in while the machine was still operating and suffered a serious injury. The court ruled JBS Foods failed to provide a guard on the machine that would have prevented the worker from reaching the pinch points.
