Manitoba Shared Health will set up a mobile clinic for eligible students, faculty and staff to receive the smallpox vaccine at the Fort Garry campus. The clinic will be located in Education Building 325 and will be open from 9am to 2pm on September 6th. Due to the limited supply of vaccine at this time individuals will be given a single dose of the vaccine for pre-exposure prophylaxis. cisgender, transgender, or two-spirited individuals who self-identify as part of the gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (gbMSM) community and meet at least one of the following criteria: have received a diagnosis of a sexually transmitted infection in the past six months; had two or more sexual partners in the past 90 days; have visited places for sexual intercourse (eg bathhouses or sex clubs) or plan to have had anonymous sex in the past 90 days (eg using apps, online sites, formal/informal gatherings) or plan to engages in sex work or plans to, as an employee or client; or any sexual contacts of the persons described above.
