Police are investigating an attempted child abduction in Gander Bay. Around 10:00 p.m. last night, a teenage girl was approached by a man driving a light gray van on Noggin Cove Road in Carmanville. The driver spoke to the teenager and asked her to get into the vehicle. She refused and the driver repeated twice more. The girl ran home, where she reported the incident to her parents. Patrols were made, however the vehicle was not located. The man is described as older with a large build. He wore a ball cap and had a long brown beard. The vehicle is a freshly painted light gray noisy older model truck. RCMP are asking parents to talk to their children about what to do in a scenario like this. The investigation continues.
